Dens (Age Groups)

Like all packs in Scouting, Cub Scout Pack 1985 is organized into smaller groups called dens. Each den is made up of Scouts in the same grade level, which allows activities and discussions to be age-appropriate.

Keeping dens to 6 – 8 Scouts helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate, build friendships, and receive individual attention from den leaders. When more Scouts join, additional dens are formed so that the group remains manageable and engaging where Scouts can learn new skills, work toward rank advancement, and grow in confidence together.

Dens meet 2 to 4 times per month and focus on completing adventures or requirements. The entire pack comes together for monthly pack meetings, special events, service projects, and outdoor activities to give them the chance to connect with the whole Pack 1985 community while still benefiting from the close-knit experience of their den.
