You Join Cub Scouts any time of year!

Pack 1985 is your local troop in Missouri City, Texas, with members also coming from Stafford, Sugar Land, and SW Houston.

We are organized into smaller groups called Dens, and each Den is made up of Scouts in the same grade level, which allows activities and discussions to be age-appropriate.

  • Kindergarten – Lion
  • 1st grade – Tiger
  • 2nd grade – Wolf
  • 3rd grade – Bear
  • 4th grade – Webelos
  • 5th grade – Arrow of Light
2026 Cub Scouting Volunteer Training

1) To get started, we invite you to attend a Pack meeting or activity.

Parents can:

  • Meet the leaders
  • See activities
  • Ask about schedule, costs, and volunteering

2) Next step is to register at https://beascout.scouting.org/

A paper application is also available. CLICK HERE

3) Then, be sure to pay your Cub Scout fees.

Typical costs include:

  • National registration fee (paid to Scouting America)
  • Pack dues (for activities, awards, supplies)

We do fundraisers to help offset costs.

4) Get your uniform and handbook (optional).

Once registered, parents usually purchase:

  • Cub Scout uniform shirt
  • Neckerchief & slide for the rank
  • Rank handbook

These can be purchased at our local Scout Shop or online through Scouting America.

5) Now your ready to get involved!

Cub Scouts is family-focused, so parents are often expected to:

  • Attend activities with cub scouts
  • Lend a hand at meetings or events
  • Volunteer for roles (encouraged but optional)
