A great gathering to kick off a new Scouting year than with creativity, friendly competition, and a little splash of fun?
Pack 1985 gathered for our Rain Gutter Regatta and first pack meeting of the year at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Missouri City. Scouts and families came together to reconnect, welcome new members, and enjoy an aquatic evening of sorts. Scouts used their creativity to design and build homemade boats, then raced them down the “rain gutters” or inflatable race track while we all cheered from the sidelines. Every boat was unique, and the races showcased the imagination, teamwork, and enthusiasm that make Cub Scouting so much fun.
The evening also included important parent orientation information for the year ahead, along with our Summer Awards celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognize our Scouts’ accomplishments and celebrate the effort they have already put into their Scouting adventures.
Most importantly, the event gave returning families a chance to reconnect and welcomed new families into the Pack 1985 community. We are excited for all the adventures, achievements, and memories ahead this year.
Thank you to everyone who helped build boats, organize the event, cheer on the racers, and make our first pack meeting such a success. Be sure to check out the photos from the Rain Gutter Regatta and relive the fun!
Do your best!
