First Pack Meeting of the Year
Join us as we welcome both returning in new families to share important parent orientation information and celebrate our Scouts with Summer Awards. This is a great opportunity to meet other families and learn about scouting. We invite everyone and anyone who may be interested in joining the adventure-filled Pack 1985!
There were fish. There were hot dogs. There was laughter. There were a few heroic attempts at casting. And, most importantly, nobody got hurt!
Families and Scouts gathered at Community Park for a day of fishing, games, food, and good old-fashioned outdoor fun. The fishing lines went into the water, the snacks went into the kids, and everyone’s hopes of catching “the big one” were somewhere between optimistic and wildly unrealistic.
championship-level Scout event
A few fish were caught… Some were impressive. Some were… technically fish. And some stories about the ones that got away may have already grown several inches. Ha!
Meanwhile, the hot dogs were performing at an elite level making the kind of memorable moments that make community events worthwhile.
Scouts had the opportunity to learn some skills, families got some quality time outdoors, and everyone had a chance to meet new friends.
And to our community guests who came out to see what Scouting is all about. We’re glad you joined us!
Scouting isn’t just about knots, badges, camping, and learning how to survive in the wilderness (although those things are pretty cool). It’s about building confidence, making friends, helping others, trying new things, and creating memories along the way.
Sometimes those memories involve catching a fish… and sometimes they involve eating three hot dogs! And sometimes they involve discovering that casting a fishing line is considerably easier when you remember to look behind you first. Eeek!
Thankfully, everyone survived that learning experience. That’s what we call a successful scout event!
A huge thank-you to all of our Scouts, families, volunteers, and community members who came out and made the day such a success. Your energy, smiles, and willingness to spend a day outdoors are what make events like this possible.
